Everyone is blogging about their goals and resolutions for 2010. I've never been a big "resolution" kind of person other than taking advantage of the membership specials for 24 hr fitness during January. Just not my thing.
I have goals I am working on already and with the new year I get closer to each one. My main priority as always is my health. Last year, I had more side effects of the fibro than I have had in a few years. I think the majority of it was stress and medication related. Since switching to a more natural approach of managing this disease I have seen an amazing improvement in my overall health. (Aside from battling persistent bronchitis the past two weeks)
I got an incredible report from the doctor with my last round of blood work which tells us both this seems to be working. My inflammation rate went from a 12 down to a 4. You don't have to know much about medicine to understand that is a feat to accomplish in 6 months. An inflammation rate of 4 is considered to be "no traceable" amount of inflammation in the body. Who would have thought it wasn't zero? Now, if we could just get the bf well.
He slept the majority of New Year's Eve and day. I have compassion for him in the sense that I know how unbearable the fatigue can be at times. I let him sleep and let his body decide when it was time for him to get up. He said he would come over and spend some more time with me this weekend than usual because he realized he wasn't much company last night. I think he is just as torn mentally about this illness as I am, just in a different way.
He's trying to be a better boyfriend and that's all I can ask. Just try.... maybe the new year will bring him new hope in battling whatever disease it is that is plaguing his body.
As for me, 2010 will bring about many changes and all sorts of new accomplishments. I don't need a resolution to know that or to make it happen. I'd like to continue on the path of well being and learning to do this whole "life" thing from day to day. Wouldn't hurt to lose 15 or so pounds along the way though :)
So.....2010. I'm ready for ya' with or without a grand resolution.
