My goal setting has lit a fire under me!!! I can hardly contain the energy and excitement that I have with this new found focus!
I start training for the Houston Half Marathon tomorrow! Boyfriend says he's going to be training too and run it. I think it would be an incredible experience to be able to complete this together. It is such a personal triumph of mine to continue to exercise and fight this disease day in and day out. I thank God he led me to the right doctors who were able to help me and continue to do so on a regular basis. Dr. Sadaf Anwar is the greatest doctor I have ever met, not to mention my rheumatologist Dr. Sunkerredi and of course my neurologist Dr. High...it takes a village to raise a child and an army of doctors, familyand friends to battle this disease! Thanks everyone!
I have also completely decided on what apartments to move into. They will save me $200 in rent alone which can go towards getting the credit cards paid off even faster. You wouldn't think that deciding to adhere strictly to a budget would be so liberating, but it truly is. I have my "emergency fund" built back up and will be able to start moving into my new apartment starting September 1. I also get half off my first month's rent and second month's rent! EVEN with paying a prorated rent for the current apt and the half month's rent for September I will be paying less that month in rent that I currently do. What a relief!
I was even able to get my student loan payments put on hold for 6 months, so I can get everything settled and paid off. The best part is they still report me as current to the creditors, so it does not affect my credit score at all. Thank you Jesus moment for sure!
Last but not least, I registered to take the GRE!!!!!!!!!!! The Graduate Records Examination is the required exam you must take in order to attend graduate school. I found the masters program I wanted to do several months ago, and now that I will be paying less in rent, I am able to afford to go back to school and start my graduate degree.
I will be testing August 5th...I figured it was better to do it before school started, and it got crazy again. I can actually study since I am off for the summer and it will be one less part of the application to deal with during the regular school year. I will be applying to Texas Women's University for their 100% online M. Ed in Early Childhood Education----NON-thesis option :) I would much rather take one more class than develop a thesis. The classes look absolutely fascinating! If I am accepted I will be able to study child development in even more detail as well as learn about early childhood programming and curriculum development. Right up my alley if I do say so myself!
Lots of exciting things happening around here. I think I just might be getting the hang of this whole 25 thing....
